Gradings
The colour of the belt signifies the ‘grade’ or the experience of the player. Children under 8 years follow the Kai system, and children over 8 years use the Mon grade system for which they are awarded a certificate and a badge. Senior players are awarded Kyu and Dan grades.
Progression is based on ability, technique and knowledge of throws, holds (and some Japanese words).
