I started Judo on canvas mats in an unheated hall when i was around 8 years old and have been doing Judo on and off at School, University and finally the Scottish Borders. Faced with the decision of Judo or Rugby when i arrived in the Borders, considering cold winter nights training in the dark, I think i made the right decision! Being naturally competitive, i have always enjoyed a good "tussle" on the mat but these days i am equally motivated by improving my coaching and Focus club in general.
